Giorgio Moroder (part 1)
Hello! After a long non-intended silence, I think the time has come to give my support for KynyNasty.
So, here we go…
One of the great legends, Hansjörg “Giorgio” Moroder (born on April 26, 1940 in Ortisei, Italy) is also one of my personal favourites.
The Italian record producer, songwriter and performer is a significant figure in the various genres of music.
He is well known to have produced various soundtracks for movies like “Flashdance”, “The Never Ending Story”, “Cat People” and “Scarface” (to call a few) and a few tracks for video games like “Grand Theft Auto III” and “Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories”.
Moroder also wrote the official theme song “Reach Out” for the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, “Hand in Hand” for the 1988 Seoul Olympics and “Un’estate Italiana” for the 1990 Football World Cup.
In addition to his own releases, Moroder has also worked with a huge range of artists. Here is a partial list of collaborations:
Almost complete (but good) discography can be found here.
Finally, I would like to offer some tracks of my personal choice for you to download. Both taken from the same legendary Giorgio Moroder album: Einzelgänger — Einzelgänger LP.
Einzelgänger: Basslich | OGG | MP3 |
Einzelgänger: Good Old Germany | MP3 |
This album is full of experimental “pre-disco” material that partially sounds a lot like Jean-Michel Jarre’s early works. It is also interesting to realize what Moroder has been able to compose and produce with his machines during the seventies. Highly recommended for the experience of alternative Giorgio Moroder!

Hello. Thank you so much for posting the two songs from “Einzelganger”. I have never heard these before! They are great! I am a huge Giorgio fan from Canada.
I am looking to get all the songs from this album. Do you know where I could download them? Maybe we could do a trade?
Take care,
Gary
