Left­field — Release 3 (320k)

The debate cir­cu­lat­ing around the roots of dub­step has been going on for years, guess it would have been so ever since the generic term dub­step came into promi­nence some­time around 2002.

I won’t be get­ting into depths with this thing right now but related to topic here’s an inter­est­ing track by Left­field. As can be seen this cut is already some 14 years old. Proto-dubstep?

Phew. Last night Tes La Rok and Dead-O were play­ing dub­step at Ilahu, Rovaniemi. Though there wasn’t enough bass it was still jolly good. Lots of dub­plates and unre­leased “finnstep”. Few clips, check it out.
