Frank Stallone — Take You Back (320k)

It’s the first one on the b-side, by Sylvester’s brother, and it’s from The Rocky III Original Motion Picture Score LP. Frank’s the vocalist here while legendary Bill Conti scored, conducted and orchestrated almost the whole original score. This track is one of the exceptions though, being produced and arranged by Charles Calello.

Why does it feel like it’s sunday already?

The soundtrack quality is quaranteed. According to Claudio himself; Roland Jupiter-8, Minimoog, Roland vocoder were the machines used. Anyway, here is an edit I made. The original song falls a little short so I extented it and added more drums.

The opening sequence in itself is top quality and much better than watching the entire film. One should stick with these scenes and the soundtrack. You won’t need to watch the whole movie.

The opening theme sounds like it’s done by the evil brother of Gary Moore.

Tästä näytteenä meillä on itse teemamusiikki, joka löytyy myös kohtuu tuoreelta Disco Galaxia –kokoelmalta. Kappaleessa yhdistyy hienosti testosteronilla ladattu synkkä hard rock sekä disco-funk inhorealistisen apokalyptiseen visioon New Yorkista. Parasta on tietenkin pelottavan (hyvän) kuuloiset koskettimet.
Auringonlaskuun kävellään lopussa Joe Walshin (tuttu Eaglesista) In The City –hymnin tahtiin. Herkullisuus.

Elokuvan maailman pääsee itse kokemaan videopelin muodossa, sillä Rockstar Games julkaisi vuonna 2005 The Warriors –pelin Xboxille sekä Playstation 2:lle. Harva peli tavoittaa alkuperäisen elokuvan tunnelman näin hyvin. Erittäin suositeltua tutustua tähän jos elokuva säväytti ja GTA-tyylinen peli inspiroi . Mikä sen parempaa kuin hakata jengiläisiä tainnuksiin discon tahtiin! Rockstar gamesille ominaisesti pelin musiikit ovat GTA-tasoista tavaraa.
Hehkeimpinä mainittakoon Amii Stewartin Knock On Wood sekä Vivian Veen esittämä Remember, jonka on muuten sovittanut, kukas muukaan kuin KynyNasty kestosuosikki Claudio Simonetti!

The theme, which can also be found from reasonably fresh Disco Galaxia collection, is a  testosterone charged grim hard rock and disco-funk hybrid combined with gritty apokalyptic vision of New York. The best is of course frightening (good) creepy keyboards.
At the end we walk to the sunset with Joe Walsh’s (familiar to Eagles) In The City–anthem. Herkullisuus.

The film world can actually be experienced in the form of a video game, as Rockstar Games published it in 2005 for the Xbox and the PlayStation 2. Not many game reach the original atmosphere of the film so well. Highly recommended if the film thrilled you and GTA-style game inspires. Beating up gangsters while listening disco, what could be better ! Dazzling Amii Stewart’s Knock On Wood, as well as Vivian’s Veen Remember, which is btw arranged, by non other than KynyNasty favorite Claudio Simonetti!
