Kyny?
We focus on the forgotten and unknown regardless of the genre. However, our emphasis is on the 1980s, Italo-Disco, Electro, Funk, Synth-Pop. We also investigate the history of Finnish electronic tracks and songs. We appreciate quality and MP3s are (for the most part) 320 kb/sec.
“Kyny” doesn’t translate properly in English. Commonly “kyny” is understood as something negative, lame or dubious. Instead of that, we do think – for example as in music that something is “kyny” when it’s “so bad it is actually good”. So in our words kyny means something staggering/emotive/awesome and often this turns out in a humorous form. Humor is quite difficult area to master.
It’s quite hard to get in to our world, but once you do it’s quite rewarding. Discover the world of unorthodox, eccentric and funky music!
Some classic examples of Kyny:
Kano – Another Life
Carrara – Disco King
Hands of Steel – trailer
Erdjan – Viski Coca-Cola
Detective Jiban
MRVF – Capek
1990: The Bronx Warriors
Of course we have just great stuff which can be appreciated without knowledge of “kyny”.
